“You’ve Got God (I’ve Got God?)
You’ve Got God Inside Of You
And When You’ve Got God (You’ve Got God)
You Show It Through Your Fruit
In What You Think, And Say, And Do!”
At least that’s what Hoagey, Coco, Frida, and Meech say in every show. But is it true? Galatians 5:22-23 tells us that “the fruit of the Spirit” is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Just like how a seed in the ground can bring forth fruit, the holy spirit in you will produce these virtues out of your life!
“God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son…” (Galatians 4:6), which is Jesus Christ. When you receive the Spirit of the Lord (or the holy spirit/ghost), it lives inside you. Your body is then considered to be “the temple of the Holy Ghost…” (1st Corinthians 6:19). And because it’s the same Spirit as Jesus’ when you have it, you can say for sure that “You’ve Got God.” Not only that, but He has you (“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14).
If you want to receive the holy spirit and confidently proclaim that “I’ve Got God”, the Apostle Peter gives us clear directions on how to receive it in Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” To find out more about the Spirit of the Lord and the role it plays in your life, get connected to a local church.
